A Heritage Sewn in Broadcloth

When my grandparents Bill & Thelma Nomberg married in 1950, my grandfather joined the family business where he manufactured pajamas for department stores across the United States. Since he passed away when I was only four years old, I had to turn to family to learn as much as I could about his work. What I did know for sure is that the quality of his garments were unmatched and the craftsmanship was unlike anything I had in my closet.

I remember talking to my family about "Papa's PJ's" and having a million questions about what fabrics and techniques he used. The original inspiration was my mother's sleepshirt from the 1980's that still looks as good today as the day she got it. Not a button is loose or a stitch out of place - so why is it that the shirt my grandfather made 33 years ago looks better than some shirts I've only had for 3 weeks? Their answer was simple - quality, craftsmanship and attention to detail. That was enough inspiration for me to run with and shortly after, sosom was born.

I don't know about you but I am so tired of spending money on garments that are going to fall apart just weeks or months after buying them. What happened to quality - what happened to having things to pass down for generations?

Now 74 years later, I am trying my hardest to carry on my families love and passion for making quality garments that will stand the test of time so you too can pass down your favorite pajamas 30 years from now!

May their legacy live on forever and may this just be the beginning of an incredible journey!
